One day, my mother-in-law gave me lots of Granny Smith apples and I didn’t know what to do with them. I knew they were great for baking but I didn’t have time at that moment to bake.
Then, I thought about fermenting them for future use! When I have some time to bake, they are in the fridge ready to be used. Your life can’t be easier than that!
You need:
- 3 Granny Smith Apples
- ½ cup Brown sugar (If sugar is too little, apples develop an alcohol-like taste)
- 2 Mason jars (1L) with lids
How to make:
- Wash apples and cut them into cubes with skin on
- Put them with brown sugar in a clean mason jar
- Close a lid and leave it in room temperature for 1 to 3 days (shake it occasionally to help the fermentation process)
- Keep the jar in the fridge until you are ready to bake
Enjoy!
