Digestion Aid Infused Water

by | June 26, 2016

One day at work, a girl I work with, Eliza, had a water bottle full of fresh fruits. According to her, drinking naturally flavored water can “trick” her mind so that she feels like she had food. The other coworker Janet disagreed with that statement and insisted it is better to eat fruits rather than “tricking” the mind.

Lately, there are many fancy infused water bottles out there and people make their own naturally flavored water for a variety of reasons such as: weight loss, detox, strengthening immune system, hydrating and alkalizing your body, boosting energy, freshening breath, and the last but not least, improving digestion!

6 Fruits and Vegetables that are beneficial for improving digestive system

You can mix and match any of these to make your own “Digestion Aid Infused Water”.

Lemon

Lemons have so many health benefits and are exceptional for your body. They can cleanse your liver, balance your body’s pH, help create digestive enzymes, help treat constipation, and improve digestive health. In my opinion, lemons should always be used in infused water.

  • Apple- Apples can help to increase beneficial bacteria in the large intestine.
  • Cucumber- Cucumbers contain high fiber and water which can promote healthy bowel movements.
  • Mint- Mint is used as an effective digestive aid for upset stomachs.
  • Orange- Oranges help relieve constipation and prevent cancer.
  • Ginger- Ginger is famous for relieving typical digestive discomforts such as: cramps, gas, bloating and indigestion. Ginger also has potent anti-inflammatory properties.

So, I tried 3 days with different combinations. I cut ingredients the night before and put them in a large glass jug with filtered and alkalized water (see my blog “What Healthy Drinking Water Is “) . Leave in a fridge overnight to let natural flavor and nutrients release into the water.

Day1. Lemon only – it was really refreshing and everyone liked it. Very simple but tasty.

Day 2. Lemon and Cucumber – it was different! I thought lemon can lessen cucumber taste but I could still taste cucumber. It was refreshing regardless.

Day 3. Lemon and Ginger – it was the best! I could taste a little bite of ginger. Mixing with lemon makes it easier to drink.

I like infused water, because it is: 1. Easy to make, 2. Hydrates with ease (drinking regular water can be boring), 3. Has enormous health benefits.

Why don’t you start your day with a glass of infused lemon water. You will be amazed how much more water you can drink with just a bit of taste in your water. Hydration is crucial for optimal intestinal health. Create your own “Digestion Aid Infused Water” and enjoy drinking it the whole day long. This new habit will make a huge difference in your digestion.

All is well and all the best!
